Awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding achievement in data science through exceptional academic performance, impactful research, and meaningful contributions to the program, in honor of Michael Thacher, whose legacy of innovation and service is further recognized by the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.

2025 - 2026 Michael Thacher and Rhonda Rundle Prize

Jupiter Kang, M.S. '25 (Fall 2025)

Jupiter has advanced machine-learning and deep-learning model algorithms by implementing hyperparameter tuning and feature engineering. Through her impactful predictive analysis projects spanning public policy, education, and sports performance, she has demonstrated both technical excellence and a commitment to solving real-world problems with data.

Parv Bhargava, M.S. '25 (Spring 2025)

Parv has contributed to cutting-edge AI research, including time series analysis, multi-agent systems, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation. He presented his work at the Trails Conference and currently collaborates with faculty on AI-enhanced educational tools.

Parv is currently an AI Engineer and Lead Consultant at HCLTech, where he works full-time focusing on LLMOps and multi-agent systems.
